Good evening all,

Could anybody please provide any advice on which provider (bank/building society/etc...) provides the best business current account.
Best being measured mostly in terms of lowest fees, but obviously customer service is important.

Please do advise either way; would you advise I go with a particular provider, or not with a provider based on a poor experience you've had?

Note: I've already decided I don't want to go with HSBC.

Thanks in advance :)

The bank ,Based on your turnover will set your monthly fees & other factors like digital transaction etc.. stay away from Santander
Barclys has 2 different monthly fees which is ok
They have more branch and desperately looking for new business

Services from the conventional banks tend to be very similar in terms of facilities, price, and quality. Sometimes one has a better deal, but it rarely lasts - similar to major supermarkets.

Among the 'challenger banks'... CashPlus is the more-established, and based on ease/speed of opening, service, and price, has perhaps the better options - and is in the process of applying for a full banking licence.

They all have similar levels of clients with good/bad experience, with corresponding yay - wonderful or nay - don't touch 'em views.

We had a free business account with Santander, which was fine until we had some problems with repeated fraud, which exposed the most incompetent customer service i have ever seen. Will never use them again. Now with Barclays and haven't had a problem, charges can be quite high if you still use cheques etc.

Just out of interest, do Santander still offer the free business account? I've been with Santander personally for a while now, and haven't had any issues with them so far. I might just be lucky, I guess.

I would not hesitate to reccomend Santander every time. Maybe the fact we were originally Alliance & Leicester (ex girobank) makes a difference in where/how customer service us handled.
