At long last it would appear that criteria are being put in place so that spam style articles will not be deemed of use and word is that it will also apply retrospectively.

It would mean therefore a well thought out, gramatically correct styled piece will be rewarded at long last and out goes the spammy, text speak articles.

Full article on it here.

Thanks Gillie :)

I've noticed recently that Ezine Articles is measuring the keyword density of new articles I've submitted, and you can't submit if your keyword density is too high (can't remember off the top of my head what the figure was - something like 4% IIRC).

A good thing, IMO :)

This is good news though not sure how much difference it will make as Google hasn't liked keyword stuffed articles for a while so even though keyword stuffed articles may appear on sites they rarely appear on searches or rank high. It's very rare I come across badly written content when I'm doing my own searches.

From the tips section on my website:

"WARNING re keyword density

Some people go utterly bonkers with keywords and that is now counter productive as these articles are being identified by Google as keyword spam. Read here for more details on keyword stuffing and why you shouldn't over do keyword use in your articles.
"

Meanwhile submission standards for many of the more popular article directories has always been high and some writers are required to submit samples before being allowed to submit content. Nearly all content is reviewed by editors for grammar and spelling and to make sure it is not self-promotion etc. Poor content is rejected.

The sites I see with poor content are those that publish without review and they are few and far between.
