Anyone else seeing the MMA video ads on UKBF?

Does showing top knockouts, fantastic finishes, grusome fighting really have a place here?

It's like being on Mortal Kombat Fatalities but in real life

I thought that - on most sites - the ads shown to any given user are shaped (or also shaped) by what the user's browsing habits are.

Isn't that how ads work? Or is this behaviour more for general purpose, social media sites like FB, Twitter, Reddit and the like?

EDIT: yes, I'm seeing MMA ads too here. How bizarre....

I think they are inappropriate for this Community and a complete distraction.

The sooner they are removed the better.

    Thanks.

not sure they will get much click though so sure that screen real estate could be sold to someone who would get a better response and therefore pay more
I'd be happy to share a summary of the research data at the end of the experiment ?.

    Hi Ozzy

It might be that the cheapening of the forum with completely irrelevant ads outweighs any perceived benefit/income earned from click-throughs.

Even if the ads were of some relevance to the thread, they would certainly be a dumbing - down of the forum, which is now what you want to achieve after putting years of work in developing it.

There must be other ways for you to earn a crust although you could always start a new category to invite suggestions. ? ?
