Hi,
Can't believe I missed it too - it's one of the best food festivals going!

Did anyone make it?

hi, i am currently part of a newly set up rugby 7's team that are looking to travel around the UK playing in various 7's tournaments. we have recenlty played in the Aberystwyth 7's and finished runners up in the Shield final of the premier competition. we are also entered into the Manchester 7's this July, and are looking for sponsors on our shirts and help with a set of team hoodies or tracksuits. We are desperate for sponsors so anything would be appreciated. We will be looking to play in 3/4 tournaments this year and build year on year. we have a current National 2 player, young players with representative honours and an ex-pro playing for us.i hav been playing for London Welsh Colts before having to leave as parents moved back to Wales. We are from all over, Wales, Scotland, Liverpool, London. The team are dying to get sponsors to get us started so we dont stay as a 1 tournament team and would love someone to sponsor us in order for us to match our ambitions and potential.
thanks

I'm another one based in the no mans land between London and Brighton, Gatwick village is what we like to call home but many choose to call it something very different

Lol, nothing wrong with Hove.

Nothing wrong with Hove at all ... Worthing is where the sparky should nip off to.
Always sunny in Hove...nice boozers and lots of lovely chaps and chapesses.

Hi

I live and work 7 miles east of Brighton in Peacehaven, as mentioned in Graham Green's novel "Brighton Rock."
If that doesn't count then sixth form and a mispent youth in Brighton surely must!

I'm moving to Brighton in 21 days!

Thought about buying a very nice place in Peacehaven, but decided it was too remote

Just watched a lot of proud gays get wet.

Welcome to Brighton....

Grow up in Hove. Left in the mid seventies.

Would never go back - such a dump these days compared to what it was.
I suppose thats true of most towns if you have grown up in it and then moved away.

Not necessarily. Sometimes you have a rose-tinted view of the place where you grew up.

For example, I grew up in Tooting from the age of 3 until I was 20. Okay, not the nicest suburb in London, but still I thought it was all right. Yet having "visited" all my old haunts on Google Streetview, I can't believe how rundown the place looks - yet thinking back it was the same when I was growing up.

So Hove may have been the same when you were young, just it was where you lived and where you spent most of your time as you grew up (I would assume), so you would think it was ok.

Oo-er!!

Oh, I see you mean coz of the rain! :D

:D Yeah, the weather wasn't very good to Brighton last Saturday. Me and a few friends went to preston park like every year to see which dj's were playing in one of the tents and stupidly forgot to bring refreshments with us...ended up buying a few cans of warm lager from an 'official' vendor at £3 a pop!.
But the whole event was free inc the mini 'rave', dj's, lighting, entertainment etc, and everyone inc families seemed to be enjoying themselves. Will take an umbrella next time though!
