About time!

I always wondered how most of them got away with this for so long, everything they sell has a card inside offering a discount if a review is left, or has been designed to look like it is actually an Amazon offer using the Amazon logo.

The brand Mpow was massive on Amazon but now gone!

The Amazon marketplace was flooded with Chinese brands but Amazon’s actions have hopefully tidied it up for UK brands to stand out more.

It’s probably to do with the Chinese -USA tit or tat currently going on.

Be nice to see Google do something. Every time I search for products in Europe I get Chinese or American sites.

All they will do is rebrand and sell under a different name. Good to see Amazon actually doing something but it's the tip of a very big iceberg across all selling platforms. Etsy has the same problem as does Ebay.

As long as people continue to buy on price there will always be a market for cheap tat.

Reviews are a big pain of ecommerce. Vendors are always interested in getting great reviews, while consumers are very harsh judges online. When I see an ebay seller with 98% positive feedback, I might be hesitant to buy!

Good, Amazon had become so full of cheap Chinese rubbish with fake reviews it was a real danger to buy anything. The only saving grace was the refund policy.

GMB is full of fake reviews. You see a ‘local agent’ with hundreds of reviews to their name all anodyne and meaningless. I saw one recently for a chippy where the review praised the restaurant - there isn’t one.

As a Chinese, I was also happy when I saw this news, because many domestic e-commerce companies are still doing these things, and they have become "traditional". This makes us very distressed, but their prices are indeed very low.

I love my 50,000 mega-power all kind outdoor solars panel funny novelty ornament burglar-warn body activate floodlight hi-security porch lamp feature.

I for one will miss Mpow!

Amazon did the right thing here. I'd imagine it's a sensible move for them also as they don't want to be seen as a wish as people won't pay for Prime Subscriptions for what they can get elsewhere

But in the end, it’s all cheap Chinese tat no matter which shop you buy it from!

As quick as Amazon close one down, another one will pop up under a different name :)
