Good and Spring Fair in the same sentence....how novel!!!

It was rubbish this year, and much the same for the last few years. Going back 10 years it was super but now its the same old rubbish time and time again.

I've tried the trade only show in the Ricoh arena but that wasnt much cop either.

What industry/sector are you in?

Good fairs have lots of entertainment activities and themed performances that bring ambiance. Purpose of visiting fairs may be different for different people. The Idealist Grad Fairs is the best for career making.

Got to agree with Multi-Store, I popped over to the NEC on Wednesday to try and find some inspiration for an e-commerce site I have. It was a complete waste of time.
The vast majority of people manning stalls were more interested in playing on their laptops or eating their sandwiches than promoting their companies. The few who were interested only wanted to swipe my badge, no effort was made to actually sell me anything. I went with the intention of placing orders if I found something I liked the look of. I came away empty-handed, feeling quite let down.

The best fairs, for quality, diversification, new products and professional businesses that are closest to the UK are in France, and you'll enjoy it 10 times more than the Spring Fair which died a death 10 years ago.

If you have the time, and the money, come to the Canton Fair in China.................and open your eyes.

must admit i was a tad dissapointed with my first visit to spring fair yday. no1 seemed bothered! people sat around, texting and looking at facebook, not trying to sell me anything, not trying to give me any freebies

    very surprised really

I'm not surprised. Is anyone bothering to win new customers any more? I've had some really daft issues with suppliers recently, just not interested. I offer them money up front for some stock and nobody calls me back, i want to order 500 units of something and no contact. Nothing. Not interested, get lost basically.

So I took my money elsewhere, to a smaller supplier who actually bothered to call me back after the first message and not after 20 messages.

Good job i didn't go to the NEC this year, was tempted but with all the hassle of the weather at the moment i missed out...or not.
