Alibaba shipping costs

Hi there, Thank you for welcoming me to UKBF.
In September 2022 I bought some sofa legs from a supplier in China using Alibaba. Express delivery was used at a cost of 131 USD. I am in the process of reordering the same sofa legs and same quantity as before but have been given a price of 350 USD for express delivery this time. Can any explain to me why the price of the delivery has almost trebled over the last 5 months? This extra cost is making it almost unviable to buy from Alibaba anymore.

Alibaba suppliers always cheat with delivery costs. I order 2-3 times each month from the same suppliers, every month they give me silly rates and then reduce them. It is all part of their mojo. Go back and tell them they are quoting wrong and see if it reduces.
If the weight is not to high get them sent via Yuantu Transport if possible, not Fed ex or UPS

Thanks for your help much appreciated, I put out an RFQ to get quotes from other suppliers and hey ho I have been quoted the same cost as I got last year! subsequently I have gone with that supplier and told the other supplier to stick it. I will bear in mind what you have said about suppliers doing silly rates and reducing, I suppose they are just trying it on. Funny thing is this time round UPS and Fedex were the cheaper option. I have learnt that you have to keep your wits about you all the time otherwise you can get caught left right and center.

Start contacting them direct, not via Alibaba!

Hello,yes sometimes freight fluctuated.But you may google some uk forwarders to quote for you also.Then you can get fair rates.
We are china appliances supplier,etoolcn.com ,so we know this.
