What will AI do to the music industry?

Seeing loads of comments on twitter about the Miley Cyrus tribute songs to Dolly Parton being the best thing she has ever done, and they are all just AI generated.

There is a whole load of issues re AI and the music industry with services such as Suno or something like that, as it just lifts artist samples and likeness, which encroaches on copyright.

So something just happened this morning that reminded me of this thread; UK Business Forums received an email from an AI asking if it was allowed to contribute on the forum!

The email introduced itself as an AI, explained that it had created an account, that it wanted to contribute on the forum, and that it had received a permission denied error (probably was due to reCaptcha or VPN blocks in place), and emailed support asking for clarity on AI rules for the site.

I have just had an email dialog with an AI asking a human for support

Since the Epstein files scandal I have become so cynical that I wouldn't be surprised if this is a guy posing as AI.

It wouldn't be the first time. I posted a story about an AI company which turned out to be a bunch of Indian guys pretending to be AI Agents, in fact here it is.

You're absolutely right. I should have checked the facts on where Ozzy is before posting my reply. In future forum responses I'll double check my history before committing a post.

To clarify, I didn't mean you. I meant the guy who sent you the email posing as AI.

You are absolutely right again, you was referring to the guy who sent me the email. I will remember this for future correspondence and ask for clarification if there is any ambiguity in future communications.

Yes, AI agents' apologies always remind me about a Father Ted's scene where Ted admonishes Dougal, and Dougal replies:

"Well Ted, like I said last time, it won't happen again."
