Adding voice and /or video to website

Looking for the most cost effective solution either to add voice only or video to a website.

I want to be able to make it only repeat once every 28 days to repeat visitors.

Why not just dump a cookie on them. Set it to expire in 28 days. Look for it on their next visit, if it exists do not play the media, if it does not exist play the media.

At vzaar we host and stream video in customisable players, including now our HD player. We don't have the 28 day feature you are looking for and from those solutions I have seen on the market I'm not sure many do.

I find these kinds of things really irritating on sites and generally use adblock plus to get rid of them pronto.

Instead of forcing it on people and worrying about some kind of unreliable cookie based 28 day repeat, why not just display a nice link or button saying [Click Here to View our Video Presentation]

This way you can dedicate a full page to the video, it can be bigger and longer and you can rest assured that you are not annoying anyone and possibly discouraging them from using your site.

I agree too, I really hate music, sound & voice on a website unless there is a real justified need for it. At least have it turned off by default then have the option to turn it on.

The amount of clients I get that want to have the button's on the website make noises when they move over them!!

If you have to do a cookie type date check, you could use a local shared object from within your flash video player. It's a lot more persistent than a normal cookie as it doesn't reside in the browser temp files directory and most people are unaware of how to clear them. You could implement this with a dozen lines of actionscript within your player.
