Although our main company is classed as small, it is quite complex and we manage a inventory of various SKUS. Turnover is in the 7 figure level and our current cloud based accounts product from a well known cloud based software provider is at the limits of what we can do with it. It's turned into a bit of a hack job.

Ideally looking for something that is more detailed than the standard Xero, QuickBooks offering but not as expensive and customised as an oracle product. They wanted £35K a year, which to me is madness as although the product looked great, it was full of stuff we didn't need. Essentially we buy and sell products, and create BOMs and Work Orders.

Require MTD obviously and quoting, inventory management, location management CRM, invoicing, etc. Is this possible for under £XX,XXXX.00 a year, if so any recommendations as I've not come up with much via Google.

Sage Intact, NetSuite and the Access Group are worth looking at.
If the Access Group’s online solution is as good as their on-premise Access Dimensions was then probably hard to beat. None of them will be cheap but ”you pays your money and makes your choice” or not as the case may be.

For £35k you could probably adapt some open source accounts or ERP package to do what you want.

It all depends on what you need to do over and above the standard packages out there.

This is way beyond the scope of a post on a forum. This needs a detailed specification covering accounting needs, CRM, inventory size, any specific workflow, and crucially, a detailed explanation regards the problems your encountering in Xero/QuickBooks or whatever you're using now.

As an example there are good inventory management and CRM plugins for most of the big cloud based accountancy products, why don't these solve the issues?

If it needs to be bespoke, you need to work with a consultant or company that can investigate and present solutions for the available software. That way you ensure you pick something that's fit for purpose, understand any development costs, and it allows you to grow as your company does.

That's the key to getting or building the right package for you.

A business I'm involved in was using DeFacto ERP/accounts, but eventually was overkill for our needs. Might well suit you though? They are based in Ipswich and many customers in the drinks industry I believe.
