Could somebody please point me in the direction of a template or correct wording for minuting the acceptance of my limited company's year end accounts at a board meeting please? Also should there have been any formal paperwork to minute that we'd asked the accountants to prepare the YE accounts?

Thanks very much in advance of you help.

IT WAS RESOLVED

THAT the directors report and the accounts for the year ended 31st March xxxx be and are hereby received.

The issue of the accountants being asked to prepare the accounts should be covered by the engagement letter.

There is no specific correct wording required by law that I know of, but what Jim has said is sufficient. The most important thing is to minute the meetings as these are legal documents. You should have made minutes to appoint or re-appoint to auditors in previous meetings. Have a browse on the companies house website they have lots of helpful information.

Jodie
