At the moment with dragons den and wealth documentaries-

Do you find there are entrepreneurs who start and think its cool and sexy and millions will follow.

or is a true entrepreneur some one who takes on huge amounts of debt and fails soo many times before a successful entrepreneur
arises.

You certainly don't need to take on huge amounts of debt (or fail) before being a successful entrepreneur.

As for the other question I guess maybe some people play at being an entrepreneur because of the image but why do you ask? Why do you care?

Whilst I really enjoy dragons den, the apprentice and others...I would like to see a show that shows the truth...

for example their is one called Antique Road Trip where they have £200 per day and they have to buy and sell to make profit each day...And its who can make the most profit by the end of the week. I wated one the other day and they finished the day with £240 - the problem is it doesnt take into account their time and the petrol running all over the place doing the deals...

The Apprentice is the same - they set up a pop-up shop, buy goods and sell it for a few hundred quid profit...but they don't show any costs for going to get stock, wages for 10 people or so, nethermind the cost of the shop and fittings... If they did, there wouldnt be any profit at all..... I think it gives a false impression to people, but yes, i know its an entertainment show....but it would be nice to see the true picture....

Yes, makes me laugh, they get given a prime pitch a Westfield or Bluewater and don't pay a penny for it. Then only make £500 between 5 of them and they win :0

I'd say that a true entrepreneur is someone who is able to adapt to events, both good and bad - to the advantage of their business... such as adapting to the arrival of the web (online competition to traditional industries), or changing the business model during challenging economic times.

I've met many people who consider themselves entrepreneurs simply because they've had one good profitable idea... it's not just about profitability in my book. India is a nation of real entrepreneurs, for example, with many making a living by adjusting to their circumstances and limited resources.
