301 Re-Direct Tool

Hi Guys

Does anyone know of or have the software to compare your current sites links to your new sites links and create 301's when it spots the changes?

I have created numerous changes to my Magento sites categories and the automatic URL rewrites haven't made the changes, so I'm having to manually copy and paste all the old and new corresponding links into a word doc so I can create htaccess rules etc.

There is bound to be a better and easier way I have spent 2 hours at this so far will no end in site.

Most changes are simply nesting an old category inside a new higher level category. I don't want to waste my time doing all this work just to be told it could have been done in minutes

If you find such a tool let me know!

If they are pattern based then you can handle a bunch of them using Excel to create the redirects using formulas, but when there is no logic from old to new you literally have to assign them manually.

For what you are doing above you should be able to do some of it using Excel.

I've never found an easier way to do it and it can take ages to do.
