Hi, I brought an account on 123-Reg last night and after downloading FileZilla I began to log in, and upload the site onto FileZilla after about 8 mins it was finished the Site is on the left side, and according to the tuts from 123-reg that is now in my Internet space.

But after I type the adress of the site inot the browser it comes up with

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache Server at dirtroger.info Port 80

Can anyone plz help? it costs 10p a min to call them and they hung up on us!! not a very good company so far!

Thanks for any help!

Also I don't think this will be of any help but I will put it on anyway. This is from FileZilla's top tab

If you are using filezilla the uploaded files should be on the right not the left.

Also check that you have the right type of hosting. It may not support the filetypes you have uploaded.

Also make sure as suggested that 123 reg has accepted the files and the databases if needed are working.

Note also that you have:

Command: MDTM DirtyRogersite.mht

The mht is a microsoft proprietary extension which indicates you have built the site using an MS product - which is maybe why the thing has crashed.

OK, so I loged into 123 - Red and got into File Manger Web FTP. And there was the site that I uploaded Dirtyrogersite.mht and that is what I uploaded to filezilla.

But still nothing is happening Before uploading to FileZilla there was an Index in there now there is just the .mht

Not sure on what to do next.

The mht file is a microsoft file, it is not a 'website' file. Dirtyrogersite.mht is not a website - it's a micrososft thing. you need a bunch of files with .htm or .php or .asp extensions.

I suspect you are either not uploading the individual files, or adding them to the incorrect folder or 123-reg is rejecting the files.

What did you use to build the website?

Sorry to hear you are having some problems with the 123-reg service.

If you can provide a username and password I can look into this for you.

With respect. Whilst you may have the OP's best interest at heart you should not be asking for that information.

How do we / he you work for 123-reg / webfusion.

You could be getting other info with that login and password.

I would suggest you find another way to resolve the Op's issues without asking the OP to disclose this kind of info

You'll need to ignore the .mht file and just upload the .html or .php etc files and images to your website. They will then show on the right hand side of FileZilla as files on your webspace.

If you don't see files on the right hand side in FileZilla then the upload hasn't worked.

If you need any help then feel free to let me know, we're happy to help.
