Hi there,

New to UKBF but it seems pretty active.

My names Matty. I’ve recently sold my second business (both built from scratch) and have started up a business that helps startups. I was wondering if I could pick brains on here - this is what I’m offering and for how much - I’m open to all feedback.

1. Branding
2.Website Build
3. Business Plans
4. Financial Plans + forecasting
5. 8 Consulting Sessions
6. Interactive Elevator Pitch Decks
7. Sales Strategy - Or Access To Investor Database

I’ve been struggling to find a price as startups pre-seed generally are short on funds. I’m currently selling the package at £6,500

As I said, any feedback would be appreciated - thanks in advance

Also if you know anyone looking for the above, I’m paying very competitive finders fees for new clients ?

Thanks

As you say many startups are strapped for cash. £6500 is a lot of money. What research have you done to indicate a startup needs all those things?

    Welcome to the family.

    Who is your target audience?

With that price tag, it isn't every startup, as a vast majority will only see cost and not value.

Your target market will be a tough one - they need to be fairly well resourced, ambitious but without existing contacts to do this from their connections.

    Or wealthy, optimistic suckers.

There are undoubtedly both out there, some pass by this forum, but I'm not sure where to reliably find them.

Having worked with start ups in many capacities, I'd suggest that the default standpoint is to avoid paying for professional advice. (I offer business plan reviews for £100 - many see that as expensive).

In truth I think you need to streamline and focus your offering more

I tend to agree with others sentiment here I am not sure that a start up is going to be looking to spend 6.5k on advice. From my experience on this many start ups are strapped for cash, cut out anything like professional advice be this legal and even accounting. So I suppose the question remains what research have you carried out on this (maybe this thread is the research) who is your target audience re size of start up and what field / area are you specialising in etc.

Agreed. I’m coming to the conclusion it’ll likely be people already running

Business’s - that what to enter a new market or sector. Which would defy the reason I’ve set it up to be honest.

I’m trying to find something reasonable - that can help people with great ideas. But obviously I can’t pay people with air.

I have had an idea of potentially taking 7% equity in all business’s we help instead of £ - and create a co working space with startups. But there’s a lot of upfront cost there for premises etc - I’ve sold my companies for very comfortable amounts - but I don’t think I’d front that 100% myself….

Appreciate everyone’s feedback here. Please reach out if you’ve posted on anything I can help with.

I specialise(d) in commercials and residential interiors and retail strategy. Happy to offer free support for anyone who’s feedback here - DM me ?

    Thanks all

Hi Matt, I think you're possibly selling yourself a bit short here. I'd normally sell just a website for around £5,000, let alone all this other stuff. Do you have any examples of your branding and web design work?

Surely the cost depends on the business. A local plumber needing just a simple portfolio wouldn’t need a £5k website. He may just need a GBP and a Facebook page.

Yes, you're right, but I'm not targeting smaller businesses like this. I typically work with larger clients who have bigger budgets.

Fair enough. Most members here aren't in that caregory - and most startups wouldn't even consider splurging that much on a website.

I don't want a finder's fee, but I'd like to establish your credentials first.

Call me an old cynic, but this thread seems to exist to big up someone without providing any evidence that can be verified anywhere. Perhaps you can fix that for us?
