Afternoon everyone

I've been trading as a sole trader for 11 years and have been with Barclays Bank for 7 years -

Does anyone have any good supportive bank that they deal with ? I do everything electronically, do not need to pay in cash - Barclays are not keen to give me even a 1p overdraft and would rather bounce items and charge me £12 for the pleasure - I understand that I shouldnt be overdrawn but occasionally something goes in for payment and Im not around to pop funds in

Anyone deal with a proactive bank ?

If you want 'supportive' you will have to pay.

If you want simple, then the online bank seem pretty good.

Overdrafts are hard to come by - and since most of it is automated, most banks will treat any level as a return.

I think sadly the days of any discretion for small overdrafts have gone.

You are probably best to look at your cashflow carefully and ensure funds are availiable.

Many moons ago we had a test as to whether you had a decent bank - it involved their response to a small temporary overdraft (with solid reason and clear exit) - a good manager would accommodate it.

After the banking crash it was how quick is the system. Now it's can you actually work out how to ask?
