The Byre

When I went to school all those many years ago and began to learn about World War Two and the holocaust, we were told repeatedly "It couldn't happen here!"

Because my family came from Russia, Germany, Italy and all sorts of other places where the unthinkable had happened and more than once, that statement just didn't sound right to my juvenile ears. I knew that loving, caring and well-educated Germans, Russians and Italians could be stampeded into destroying their own societies and turn on their neighbours and even family members out fear, greed or just ignorant belief in what they were being told by a handful of corrupt, self-serving politicians.

So why not in rural Kent, or Lincolnshire, or Wales, or Scotland? Most of those around me hardly seemed cultured or educated and nearly all my fellow school chums had never been outside of Britain.

The British used to be known for being easy-going, hardly material for mass panic and groundless fear. Thousands were killed in the war and yet between the heaps of rubble, death and destruction, people just got on with their lives and muddled through. As soon as the rubble was cleared from the latest deadly round of attacks by V2 bombs, the trams ran once more and the BBC opened its comedy programmes with the words "Live, from the heart of London . . ."

Lord Haw-Haw told the world that Brits were cowering in their cellars, yet there was the sound of people laughing! Now a new variety of the common cold has taken almost every comedy programme off the air. Well, the funny ones seem to have gone, replaced by a few desperate attempts at woke drivel.

At the helm, the British prime minister has been trying his damndest to look and sound like Winston Churchill. It was like watching the glove puppet 'Sooty' pretending to be a real bear!

At the heart of this government's latest change of policy (U-turn?) is the greatest restriction of freedoms this country has seen since the war. And back then, Britain was fighting a real enemy and not a cold virus whose victims have an average age of 79.5 and are mostly obese.

In today's Daily Telegraph (now apparently the new voice of the opposition!) the main editorial points out three things that this government is studiously trying to not talk about -

1. The totally broken and chaotic state of the NHS and its ability to provide an even adequate health care system. The editorial describes the NHS as 'terminally inadequate' and that seems to be describing the state of health care in the UK rather mildly.

2. The Government is far too frightened to conduct, let alone even discuss, any proper cost-benefit analysis of its measures

3. The dangerous pretence that everybody is at equal risk, which it describes as a shocking unwillingness by both the government and the opposition to engage in an honest conversation about economic trade-offs.

This virus mostly kills the old and sick - i.e. the economically inactive. Any heartlessly economic analysis would find all the arguments in favour of allowing it to rid humanity of those who are a drain on the economy as they are the beneficiaries of a transfer income (pensions and allowances) from the economically active.

These arguments may be tempting for those who are fit, young and healthy, but it would be euthanasia by the back door.

BUT

The lockdown has cost the UK economy 10% of its GDP so far and we are just at the beginning. Poverty kills just as effectively as C19. The difference in life expectancy of what the Office for National Statistics calls the AB class and the DE socioeconomic classes is a whopping ten years. The coming economic crash will primarily impact the poor. In other words, we shall be killing people who are economically active by inflicting poverty upon them.

Add to that, Brexit and government incompetence at more or less every level - remember that this government has thrown fiscal self-discipline out of the window. It is running on an eye-watering and unsustainable 17% deficit by its own figures and probably a great deal more in reality.

And now we discover that the government's chief scientific advisor, Sir Patrick Vallance, is heavily invested in vaccine developer Glaxo-Smith-Klein, for whom he used to work. He holds £600,000 in shares and had received £5m from them in the past. That means that his advice to the government must be regarded as suspect at best.

The UK is stumbling into the Swedish model - but without their health and social care systems and without the freedoms they enjoy. Deaths in care homes are rising and will continue to rise and forced economic inactivity will make the poor even poorer.

It is happening here. We are losing our freedoms, whilst the worst of all choices is being forced upon the British people by government ineptitude and indecision. It's euthanasia by default.

A mate of mine in Spain who's wife if in hospital with Covid is likely to disagree that it's just a common cold.

PS: She is under 50, fit and healthy and wasn't in the 'at risk' list

So glad you mentioned that..

Where to start ....

It's not a choice of death or 100% healthy recovery from Covid. I personally know 3 people who have been diagnosed with long term issues from picking up the virus.

All are under 50 the youngest 26. Their issues vary, lung, kidneys etc
All are unable to go back to work because of health. So how are they going to help the economy.

Over 20 goals comprise the "new world order" the United Nations will focus on as part of its "Agenda 21/2030 Mission Goals," Items on the agenda include one world government; a single cashless currency; government-owned and controlled schools, colleges and universities and an end to single-family homes.

"THIS IS NOT A CONSPIRACY THEORY," "If you don’t believe it, a simple google search will take you to the U.N. website where you can access the document and read it for yourself. It is amazing (not) how well the Covid 19 plandemic ties in with Agenda 21/2030."

As I recall you are also old.
Are you economically inactive too?

Come to think of it - how many successful business owners will there be who are under the age of 40? Some yes - but a chunk will be old. Is a business owner who is still involved in their own business economically inactive?

Not forgetting of course that some people don't die - how many of us have businesses that can manage or be shut down temporarily at immediate notice if you become ill for a few weeks / get hospitalised?

You can be losing your freedoms. Don't mind those of us at risk of losing breathing privileges.

Two of my cousins have died. OK they were older people - but in good health. And economically active - not all activity is highly paid city jobs!

Its not just a common cold, but its also nothing like as deadly as it looked six months ago.

It is true that coronaviruses include some common cold viruses so the statement that it is a variant (albeit a nastier one) or a common cold virus is literally true - but that is a distraction from the main point.

The problem is that there is now no rationale behind government policy, In March the aim was clear: to flatten the curve to prevent the NHS being overwhelmed by too people needing treatment at once. What is the aim now? I have no idea.

Then why do we have tightening restrictions when hospitalisations are at less than a quarter of the level they were when lockdown started and are growing much more slowly, and at a tenth of the peak level? The numbers for the number patients actually in hospital are even better.
No idea. But that's the plan.

I think what they want to do is preempt a sudden rise. They have seen what's happening in other countries and have guessed the same might happen here.

Not saying they are right or if this is the correct approach but if they did nothing and we did get a load of casualties they would get the blame for this as well. Wherever they do 50% of the population will disagree.

@James Johnson probably believes in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and the Racial Program for the Twentieth Century as well.

So tell me your thoughts on Patrick Vallance, being heavily invested in vaccine developer Glaxo-Smith-Klein.. the vaccine makers that is being pushed on us.

and secondly when it comes out are you for free choice in taking it or it bring mandatory? Thirdly what’s your thoughts on Victoria Australia?

All ears.

Of course young man.
Nothing in there about a new world order. The document is real but your interpretation is wrong.

Don't you remember the BS published by the IRA during Op Banner? They would take a fact and twist it around to mean something else. We use to pin 'em to the crewroom walls.

They are just one of many. If you check your facts the government has been ordering vaccines from a number of companies.

Of course not. Can you identify the new world order part in the document, and the bit about a single government/currency?

Like you said it’s in the interpretation-

One World Government

"One World cashiers Currency

"One World Central Bank

"One World Military

"The end of national sovereignty

"The end of ALL privately owned property

"The end of the family unit

"Depopulation, control of population growth and population density

"Mandatory multiple vaccines

"Universal basic income (austerity)

"Microchipped society for purchasing, travel, tracking and controlling Implementation of a world Order.

No then fisicix (what is that name) only fair that I answered your question you answer mine fine one?

Ok - what’s your thoughts on the governments chief scientific adviser on the spread of a disease being heavily invested up to £600,000 in a vaccine that will magically cure it?

Where does it say this? I’ve searched the document and can’t find that phrase.

As to your question: don’t really care what shares he has.

What about my question about op banner?

I answered it I told you it was in the interpretation but you disagreed with me.

Having no interest in the chief medical officer having massive interest in a vaccine that if rolled out will directly positively affect him? You seem gutless then.

Now my second question that you didn’t answer-

When the vaccines are rolled out would you be pro choice of taking them or would you have them do they are mandated punished by law?

O don’t you start too lol - these subjects are to big to just discuss willy nilly on here - it goes deep.. my advice is if your interested in alternative possible agendas then research and review yourself.. start with at London Real. You never know you might learn something.

What would be the point of a One World Military ?

They can do the same thing other militarily bodies do.

Protection
Dealing with looters
Civil support
Rescue
Escorting asylum seekers to someone else's waters
Dealing with the rebel alliance....

And good way to corral all your sheepdogs together where can keep an eye on them, reduce the chance of them trying to go wolf...

How hard would it be to find people to advise who do not hold any shares in any companies?

It's not relevant to his advice.

Hehe - seriously though - you don’t believe in Aliens?

Strange.

Anyway off to chuck some darts (average 48) not bad for a pub player - play nicely and catch you peeps tomorrow.

Not the kind of aliens you see in films. But yes, as you're asking, in some kind of alien lifeforms somewhere I do.

Upvote 0
do you mean like the alien farts discovered on Venus last week ?
I don't remember reading about alien farts specifically, but I did see something about some rancid gases they had discovered. I suppose if we read between the lines it may be the same story.

Hmmm. I posted on here many moons ago that I would follow my own strategy for dealing with Covid-19.

That is -
1. No public Transport
2. No public spaces unless absolutely necessary
3. Wear a mask if coming less than 2 meters of any stranger
4. Wear gloves if touching any surface that may have been touched by anyone outside my house hold (the wife and I).

The results have been that I haven't been on any buses or trains, I haven't been in any supermarkets (click and collect has worked fine), I quit some work I had where the client wanted me in an open office. But, I have not had Covid, my wife has not had Covid, neither of us has had a cold and we have discovered the joys of cycling.

Now I'll be the first to admit that being over 70 I can get away with this anti social behaviour more easily than most, but the bottom line is that we all have choice, and we should exercise that choice.

This thread has opened a gate to the silliest conspiracy theory imaginable, but everyone has the right to their own opinions.

My suggestion to you is stop reading the Telegraph, take a nice mug of cocoa and go to bed early. Dream of the fortunate aspects of your life and condition and wake up refreshed tomorrow,

And do stop carping

You are right to criticise the state of the NHS but to bring Byre's mind back to 1945, we bankrupted out country in fighting a world war, whilst the looser Germany had the luxury of starting again still getting assistance from the Britain and a large chunk of Europe and the USA, we even went so far as to spend a fortune on German defence with bases all over the country

This debt has taken years to pay back and left serious problems with the UK for the majority of the last 70 years. This in part but also by past governments has mean that the NHS has had restricted spending for decades and only recently seen real growth making it adequate but not world leading in all area's

We have also seen poor management in many industries leading to unions becoming political animals rather than looking after their member’s interests and then misusing the power they gained. Poor management also lost us Shipbuilding and Aircraft making where management built to orders rather than making the right product for world wide orders

I don't know about Sir Patrick Vallance but assume this is not something that he has invested in recently but from when he worked there and may well have shares in other companies. no doubt it was noted in some government forms just like MP's and Ministers

Yes, he had shares from his employment. Patrick was President, R&D at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) from 2012 until 2017.
Now are we going to refuse to listen to people who do know what they are talking about but also own shares in any pharma company? Because it may well be that all the ones we need currently have shares. How many of you guys have shares in any pharma either personally or in your pension scheme?

Its common for civil servants and probably advisers as well to have to declare any interests.
We don't know what he declared to HR.

C’mon D don’t treat us like fools, listen you sell trinkets on eBay for a living so let’s say your introduced to 5 big independent buyers who know nothing of your particular trinket and your given 5 trinkets to sell/promote in a room let’s say for example like a Tupperware or Anne summers party.

You do 5 sales pitches to sell each product- let’s look back at the tape and see how your excitement, enthusiasm, joy, body language, voice tone, changes when it’s your product as opposed to mine or the other 3.. c’mon son.

Not tried it with 5.
Have tried it with a few dozen buyers and one sales presentation. And sold some stuff.
That was my products.

And have worked as a sales rep for a time. Did well enough to keep my job until I decided to move on. That was all my employers products.

Have tried it with ultra high net worth individuals - what you would term rich people - to sell the idea of a particular cause. That was as part of a team and we had pledges of over a million that night so I class it as a success. Not selling to 5 though this was a few dozen.

That was all well before I started this business. Now I do not have to do a presentation, do not have to dress up. And I can sell in my sleep. Much easier.

Oh, and cannot stand up and do a presentation. Well, not without a 15 grand wheelchair.
