Will They Need My Passport Again

I'm in the process of selling my business, and when I bought it, my lawyers asked me at least twice, probably three times for it during the purchasing of it. When I contacted the lawyers to act on my behalf again, they said they might need my details again. So I just resent them EVERYTHING, they needed my VAT number, NIN, etc again all at the last minute. I resent them everything again and explained for them to keep it on file as I wasn't happy that they kept asking me for this.

So when I rehired them, I sent them ALL my details again (passport, NIN, POA, VATNo, etc), because I didn't want them to come back to me with a stupid excuse about missing my personal information, but my passport expired just before I rehired them, and I have no idea when the business will be sold (we're waiting on the LL to give permission) and I'm renewing it, but not sure whether to go for standard or fast renewal time. I spoke to my lawyer about it, and he said that it shouldn't be needed again to complete the sale, but he didn't sound too convincing.

My LL's agents should have all my details from last time, I reconfirmed my identity with my lawyers, when I rehired them, but last time, they were not very good at keeping track of my documentation! Should I go for fast or standard renewal?

Thank you.

Just about everything about your post smells fishy!

Who is advising you on the business side of the purchase of this business?

Why aren't you using a lawyer who knows you?

I've never been asked for my passport for selling a house? Sounds to me your lawyers don't trust you are who you say you are? Do you wear lycra and have sunglasses and lots of gold bling, and one of those strange dodgy County Lines accents?

I've never been asked for my passport for selling a house?

We were asked (two directors) to supply service bills and passports when buying and selling a property on behalf of the company. This was with a solicitor that we have been using for years. Never been asked as part of a private purchase/sale though.

Sounds like money laundering checks. Unless the original document is seen the check is not passed. Especially if your passport is now an ex passport.

Standard passport turn around at the moment is under 10 days.
