Placing Advertising On My Snack Van?

Me and my friend are opening a snack van and i had a thought about if we placed a big advertisment or 2 on the back / side of our van then this could earn us some extra money each month. I was thinking 1 add on the back of the van (side of it if your at the food window) and also another longer advertisement on the long side of the snack van.

Firstly, am i allowed to do this? Also, where abouts would i go to find people wanting to advertise?

Find a local magazine and advertise in their, just make a short brief ad and state that you're offering advertising space on your snack van.

I'm sure you'll get some interest that way, advertising in local publications tends to be cheaper than printing posters and saves you the hassle of getting the word out or distributing stuff yourself.

Also, make an advert for your van that says something like 'CAUGHT YOU LOOKING ADVERTISE YOUR BUSINESS HERE FOR X AMOUNT PER MONTH'.

For the amount of money you will get, it's not worth doing. Equally, it's not a good look to have 3rd party advertising plastered over your van. That space could be used for something useful.

As Alluphere mentioned, you probably wouldn't be able to command a decent price but you could negotiate decent discounts from your local baker or bread supplier, your butcher or bacon/sausage/cold meat supplier, your calor gas supplier, your local greengrocer.........you get the picture........

If the food is good tho, im sure customers / potential customers who are hungry wont care too much if there is ads on the van or not. I have been to many snack vans to something to eat, not once have i ever been put off by an advert or posters, etc.. on the outside of the van.

Yeah, thank for your reply. Also thats a good idea to have that ad in the empty space on my van where future ads will go.

My plan (recent plan lol) is to wait until the van i running for few months then i can provide some information to potential advertiser about the amount of customers come to my van and also information on how busy the road where i am is, what the foot and driving traffic is like by the van, etc..

Do you mean, i could try come to a deal / arrange with my suppliers to get my food stock cheaper in return for advertising their company on my van?
