Which Payment Gateway & Merchant Account?

I have just opened a Magento store online and looking for the best deal on a payment gateway/processing provider and opening a merchant account. I have gone through a lot of threads about this topic which have given me a better understanding but I still need a recommendation on your experience. My conditions are:

> It's a new business and has no credit/trade history
> The lesser the charges the better
> The business is just starting so I will say, it is still a small business
> I want a seamless checkout
> Don't want to be tied to a long contract

Is it better & cheaper to get the payment gateway and merchant account from different providers OR from same provider. I use COMODO SSL on the website, how does this affect the choice I make?

I might also be using PayPal alongside the above services. Is this a wise decision?

Your advice, experience and recommendation will be very helpful.

Thanks.

Hello there
If you want to set a account for business payments then in my opinion Pay Pay account is the best option because this is providing all these condition.

Hi there

You can check rates for merchant accounts and payment gateways on the following comparison sites:

Just a note: With the merchant account you will be charged a percentage per transaction (generally between 1-3%). The amount that you pay will depend on your trading history and on what type of business model you have / industry you operate it as some are perceived as more high risk for the acquirer than others.

Anyway above sites are a good place to check while people get back to you on this thread.

Best

Hi dejoe087 - what are you planning on selling? That will be a key consideration as to correct payment solution.
