Public House Licence Advice

tha'ts a very vague question, what exactly are you looking for.

One way to get the answers in general would be to ring your local council for further advice.

Sorry I know it was a little vague.

I'm after the general rules really so I can get an idea what further questions I need to ask.

I believe one rule is that the person holding the licence is required to be on site 24/7 either working or not but as silly as this sounds, does this mean that you can't go away and leave someone else in charge?

No; you'll have a Designated Premises Supervisor who is the manager of the pub, and is required to take ultimate responsibility for it, but you may employ Personal License Holders (i.e. ordinary staff supervisors) who can take legal responsibility for the premises when the DPS is elsewhere.

The DPS will also need to obtain their own Personal License prior to becoming the manager. There are companies that will give you the required material and put you through a brief training course, then you'll take an exam and be accredited by the local licensing authority if you pass.
