Name/domain for Lead Generation company.

Hi,

This is probably going to sound stupid, I will no doubt get the usual responses of why are you in sales if you cant think of a business name etc.

Anyway, I am looking at going Ltd as appose to Sole trader for my lead generation/telesales company and have contracts to do so already in place across several different sectors.

The problem being, as a Ltd co I really need a idendity/brand, this hasn't been a problem to date, but I plan to put a lot of money into creating a new site and marketing it, so feel it's really important I get this right.

Just doing a bit of research, using search engines etc, some great examples in my sector -Leadstoyou. leadpoint, leadsbroker etc.

I think the problem is that We generate leads for many different products and services.

Any suggestions would be great

I own a domain name that might suit your needs. I had a plan to do something in similar field some years ago but have been too busy with other projects. I have checked and the Ltd company name is also free and unregistered.

Let me know if you would like me to PM you the domain. It has never been used and just has a 123-reg holding page.

I would say go for a brand name which doesn't use 'leads' in order to differentiate yourself, as there are so many companies called e.g Leads2you or Buyleadsnow. You'll be lumped in with all of them if you're not careful and become faceless.

Try brainstorming ideas based other relatable aspects to lead gen that would appeal to the customer's mindset.

I like the idea of not using lead in the name.

I played around with a few names such as tlgs (total lead generation services) too but will have to go away and think as I didn't think of anything great.

I had a similar issue to you a year or so ago when I set The Lead Machine up - did it cover all the services I was planning to offer, were people going to be thinking it was some heavy metal machine (yep, it does happen), is it going to restrict me to just selling leads ?

There is always going to be the debate over how how important a company name is. Then when you finally settle on something you find the url has already gone or the ltd has gone and you have to change it slightly.

What I have found over the past 14 months is that your clients don't really care what you're called - if you provide them with a good quality service at a reasonable cost then this is more important.

If you're really not sure for now you could always register a ltd company and then trade as something else anyway.

Hi Jade,

If you are going to spend a lot of money on getting marketing done, and a new website etc, then why not talk to an expert. A company we have worked with before should be able to help you with this type of thing, they are a full service marketing agency, they deal with SEO, Websites, etc. Surely they are the best type of people to help you, rather than you registering everything, only to be told that you should have done this and that.

Nice tips above, but pay attention that you may have some ranking problems without "lead" as the keyword in your brand.
