Hi,

This is probably a stupid question, but how do you contact bands? I'm not a stalker (promise) lol. I really want to get a celebrity endorsement for our website but have no idea how to get in touch with them?

What hoops do I need to jump through to get a chance of such a thing?

Any advice would be massively appreciated

:)

What is your url then?

Not sure what that has to do with contacting people? lol

The website is currently under construction and should be complete in the next few weeks. It is at that point we are going to try and get clients on board etc and would love to get an endorsement for the site before it's official launch.

When the site goes live I will happily tell you the URL.

:D

usually you should be able to find the name of the bands agent via google or something, then all comunication goes through them. good luck.

thanks for the reply.

Trying to find it now. Seems it's not the easiest thing to search when there name is "The Wanted". Add the word agent in with that in a google search and all it comes up with is "Agents wanted" etc. lol

Any ideas?

I have had a look on their official website, but unsurprisingly their isn't any contact details. I doubt putting a comment on their facebook page is really going to get results? lol

I'm presuming I need to get in touch with their agent as mentioned previously. Just not sure how to get those details

The Wanted have apparently, the same maangement as The Saturdays, who are signed to Fascination Records http://www.fascinationrecords.com//
So perhaps a call to them may help you locate the person/people you want to speak too.

Hmm, the wanted don't seem like a great band.

You should get these young stars to endorse your website ;)

http://twinandtonic.com/

Hmm,

Is this by any chance a bit of self promotion? Or is it a complete coincidence that there is a member in the band called Max Holloway and your username just happens to be maxh?? :|

I bet your surprised that I have actually taken the time to look at your website in detail - I like it :)

Who, that devilishly handsome rogue Max Holloway? Certainly not...

Anyway, that band is out of action as one of the twins had a little baby girl

Just a thought, The Wanted are on the Geffen Record label, which is a Universal Music Label.

Contact details are...
Universal Music

javascript:;1, Sussex Place, London, W6 9EA

  • Tel: 020 8910 5000

Universal Music Group Ltd

javascript:;364-366, Kensington High St, London, W14 8NS

  • Tel: 020 7471 5000

Just as a general comment, asking a celeb(s) to endorse a product they don't know is stretching things a little, asking them to do promotion for you is likely to cost a hell of a lot of money up front.

Would your money be best spent in another direction?

Dependant on what yoru site is why on earth would a celebrity endorse it if it is not a well known brand? It will cost you an absolute fortune and there are much better ways of securing business.

The only time it is ever worth doing an endorsement is if the band/celebrity is a house hold name not some two bit band with a myspace trying to make a name for themselves. There are thousands of bands like this out there so it wouldn't make it special in any way.

Not sure why you are so protective about sharing your URL or saying what your site does? You should be proud of what you are doing and if you are about to launch, no one is going to be stealing your idea!

I never understand people who don;t want to plug their biz left right and centre! Maybe thats just me :D

Firsty, When did I say I'm about to launch the website? The website will be complete in a few weeks time, but it's not going to be launched in three weeks. So why would I possibly want to put my idea out there for someone to have a go a stealing?

I love my business and hopefully it will do well. When I'm set to launch, then of course I will be shouting about it off the rooftops.

The band I would like to get support from is new and are doing a lot to promote themselves. Such as free gigs etc in my city. One of the members is from Nottingham so That's why I particularly want this band.

Do I have loads of money to spends? Nope. Is it essential for my website? Nope. Is it worth a try? Absolutely! I probably won't get anywhere, but if you don't try, you don't get.

First two items, the reasons NOT to try. third...a reason to consider it, fourth...the final nail in the coffin for the whole idea.

Would your time be better spent on other activites rather than wasting your own time and that of other professionals working with the band, just so they can say no?

If you already had a personal connection to one of the band members, it would be a potential avenue to get an endorsement, but without that and without cash to pay for their time, what are they going to get out of it?

I think it is definitely worth making the effort. If you always think people are going to say no, then there is no point doing anything.

I don't think I'm wasting there time really. They might not be interested, but then again they may see some benefits. At the end of the day, the worst they can do is say no.

If you actually read this thread then you would see Andrew Pountain has already been suggested. Seems like you just wanted to add your business name in your sig.
