i wont say whether i am in Minack or Llanbandrig but whats the point of so many people creating an area called the "wales and the west"? it soo geographically different its wrong to group at that level.

i just entered a £50k business competition run by a "leading" worldwide bank and was immediately put in the wales and west area.....

end of grumble...grrrrr

It's the same kind of thinking that's shown by the annoying advert on the right of this page.

"National UK Tour"

London, Cambridge, Ipswich and Leicester. I'm surprised that they didn't call it a world wide tour.

Those of us in Wales OR the West Country are used to being patronised by "National" events that don't come within 100 miles of us

end of grumble

just read the small print..

turns out you get £10k in the bank and the rest is "managed" by them.

i quote.

"To get you started, we’ll deposit your first £10,000 into a Barclays Business Account. After that our Local Business Managers will work with you to help you make the best use of the money within the first 12 months to boost your business idea"

looks like someone is gonna be a winner.... i do hope it will be the winner of the competition.

I think the Wales and West TV region was originally set up as a way of distributing advertising revenue more evenly round the regions, though each region operated individually in terms of programming. The West then was only Bristol/Somerset though and Devon & Cornwall were in a different region.
