Connecting keyword queries to a domain name

Ok here is a question. I currently have a domain name available with a .co.uk extension. It is closely related to another popular british website. The query for the actual website gets around 6.2 million searches on google per month. The query for the similar keyword/s get around 1.2 million searches per month. I own the domain that gets 1.2 million queries per month. Although I have not yet listed this site or worked on the structure of it, what would be the best move forward from here.

I cannot actually disclose that information at this moment in time. Sorry. I was just looking for information on how I could possibly connect that query to my domain.

 

afraid there is far more to getting to those 1.2 million query's than having the domain name.

you will have to build a proper site that is SEO'd to a very high standard and do a lot of quality link building.

Even then you will have major problems because of the domains being a virgin.

I thought as much, although I do think many people could type the domain directly into the address bar.

they may well type the keywords in the address bar,but that is extremely unlikely to bring up your domain if it is in anyway a competative term.

A keyword rich domain is a help ,but only a part of what gets a site up the SERP's.

I don't mean they search via the address bar I mean they actually type the query as an address i.e www.iwanta.com this is just an example

If you are saying it gets 1.2 million exact searches, if you were to park it i would bet it gets a few thousand visitors from people naturally typing it into the address bar, you should have checked this yourself relly,

Ill give you £100 for it.

I'm not posting the URL because it is irrelevant. And I have no intentions on selling the URL as it fits in perfectly with my business.

You post a question about a URL and when queried you say the URL is irrelevant.
Personally I think you are making it up as you go along. As most (mature) men don't read much fiction perhaps statements like "I own the domain that gets 1.2 million queries per month" belong on pinker, fluffier forums.

I posted a query about connecting keywords to a domain name. It is irrelevant what the URL is. If you feel that you cannot be helpful then do no reply to this post. Mature men do not cause friction between fellow forum members.

If I had a domain that received 1.2m hits per months do you think id be sat here asking for advise on how to get the 1.2m hits that already hit my site to come to my site???

keywords in the domain name help a little though. try buying an existing domain - then you short cut some time to SEO

Parking it would be the best way forward. The site should get at least some traffic. If you try to trade off a domain that size they might be able to take it off you as a trademark violation.

try using SMO to get more traffic as well get promoted
