I wonder what the marketing value is of a good domain name?

Anyway, for our new project we picked up spectacu.la - at least we think it's good.

It's for a site targeted at net-savvy types, so we don't expect too much confusion from folk who try spectacula.com - which is currently 'in construzzione'.

What does the panel think of the name?

Sadly can't register .ar so that's the best we can do.

Anyway, misspellings are very Web 2.0 right now donchaknow? Partly because all the real names have been snaffled by domainers already.

I'm one of those people who thinks domains should cost a lot more two stop people sitting on good names...

You could quadruple the price of domain names, and it still wouldn't stop them - the prices would just increase more to cover costs.

Well, you can only get a Spectacul.com.ar which kinda takes the shine off it! Like .uk is almost impossible on its own

Same applies to Albania and Nigeria.

They're missing commercial tricks there - could generate quite a bit of tasty foreign currency. I guess it's only a matter of time, like .la , where they move on that.

I didn't keep it, never even went live with any content, but back in 1999, I was running as an ISP in Botswana, and I setup a cricket site domain :

l.bw

They won't register any more TLD's though, and wont let me revive this registration.
