Too many attempts to add bells and whistles, lack of proper quality controls, lack of transparency, lack of accountability, and too much reliance on automation as an abrogation of responsibility.
Just reading Google News, this hosted piece came up:
http://www.google.com/hostednews/af...ocId=CNG.999426eed38d24123132435f3d303867.af1
Problems:
1. It's about Lebanon in the Middle East, but links to a Google Maps image of Holland
2. For related articles it links to French-language websites from an English publisher
3. Adsense isn't even optimised - wrong position, not integrated
4. URL is absolutely awful - 70 alphanumeric characters just to indicate it's unique string
If I were with AFP, I would think I was being screwed.
As a Google user I increasingly feel laughed at.
Still, at least no "live twitter" spam feeds on the page!
