Hi,
I have a cupcake shop (sweet revenge) . and i need to know different ways of promoting my cupcake shop. anyone has any valuable information regarding this??
 
We have a couple of Petrol Stations that sell local cakes and donuts, may be worth trying to get them to sell your cupcakes.

PS Especially the ones who sell to the big truckers

All the valuable information costs money....:D

But the lower cost information, like handing out leaflets in high footfall areas, visiting office buildings, etc come free.

Pick a handful of companies in the local area that you know regularly host meetings / pitches at their office space.

Customise some cupcakes with their logo on and take them round.

Next time they have an important pitch, they may just use you.

And even if they don't, they might call in at dinner.

Why not make a couple of 100 cupcakes as a loss leader with your company logo on it - you could even stick on your contact number and pop a couple of each into surrounding shops/businesses...

An edible business card!

Have you tried facebook? My friends daughter makes cupcakes and now has over 4000 followers on facebook - she posts pictures of her designs and seems to get lots of orders through this. Also, she has a stand at local fairs which always seems to do well.

Facebook is a brilliant place to start for a cupcake business, create a page with the name of your cupcake company that you use and then invite people that you know and who will be interested in seeing cupcakes you have to offer, post up your latest batches of cupcakes when you make then and ask people to share, anyone who likes your page and is interested will be willing to share, the more gets shared the more chance there is of more people seeing your cupcakes and liking your page.

Handing out flyers and even asking businesses if they would be interested in selling your cupcakes for a fee for the cakes that you are happy with if you can get them packed as they would be sold in the shops is also a brilliant idea.

Would agree that the social media route is very good for sweet things, especially cup cakes and such. Maybe try contacting local event organisers and supplying/selling at their events? Local carnivals or fetes etc? (obviously depends on size)

Might I add, I love your shop name :D

What about going to local cafe's/pubs/eateries and asking about a cake club or attending local food fairs/events/open days and showing off how fantastic your cupcakes are? Wedding fairs, too as many couples will be looking for alternatives to the standard wedding cakes or charity events and getting some coverage that way? Charitable and one good deed deserves another don't you think?? :)

Cupcakes - the most over rated product ever, a total triumph of optimism over reality. I am always disappointed in them.

However good luck, and make sure you can cook other stuff too as cupcakes can't last

Only problem with this is if someone has a fit about you using their logo. I know it's not likely with most small businesses, but you only need to look at apple & Samsung constantly trying to sue eachother to see how extreme some companies take themesleves.

And yes, I fully appreciate that your businesses are worlds apart, just my cautionary 2p worth.

If you have a physical shop why not have some special events?

Start attending some business networking events now, and start building up some contacts and then arrange a big shopping evening in time for Christmas.

Or maybe try a cupcake decorating workshop.

As cupcakes are generally very pretty, Facebook and social media are always very good source of promotion.

I would also advise on getting some leaflets done.
