This update now gets sent to all UKBF members by email but I'm posting here for a transition period for a few months.
Welcome to the first of a new regular feature from UK Business Forums, where I’ll be dropping you a line on the first Monday of each month bringing you up to date with what is happening in the world of UKBF and what you can expect from your membership.
We’ve decided to send these updates out through email following member’s feedback that the announcements section of the forums often could get missed.
Perhaps one of the biggest changes made to UKBF membership is the launch of the Business Membership perks and benefits, which now in addition to the on site benefits previously available now include some real money saving benefits for business owners.
These savings currently add up to more than £400, with more cost savings being introduced all the time. This is a great milestone which I’m really excited to share with you.
Back when UKBF was launched 20 years ago I encouraged members to work together, trade together and we’d shout about members businesses all the time. We’ve brought that back with our Member in Focus feature, and this month’s Member in Focus is EcomAlistair.
Business Member in Focus
Meet Alistair Wilson of Compound eCommerce automation, our UKBF Business Of The Month!.
In 2021, amidst the COVID lockdown, Alistair shifted gears from digital marketing to focus on business automation and lowcode development. Now, his team is transforming the lives of SMB owners by optimising ecommerce operations!
Alistair credits UKBF for sharpening his business acumen by engaging in forum discussions and learning from the community. "It's been a great platform to share insights from our rapidly growing industry," he says.
UKBF Perks
Business savings are real tangible benefits for our members, and something we’ve been spending months and months working on. These savings include offers from big brands such as Google and Wix as well as other UKBF members including Voipfine and TakePayments.
Take a look at the often exclusive discounts currently available on your My Perks page. Remember to check back often as we continue to add more and more to the list.
Members Directory
Many members have fed back to myself and the UKBF team that the Business Directory was a key feature they wanted, and why many upgraded their membership, so we’ve expanded this and taken it a step further. We’ve added Feedback and Ratings, including the ability to link to socials, Google Maps and more.
Make sure your business details are up to date in the members profile here, and if you do not wish to have your business listed you can opt out on that same page.
Anonymous Threads
Do you have a sensitive part of your business you would like help with?
For our Business Members we’ve introduced the ability to create Anonymous Threads to ask questions from the community without disclosing your company details, an important step in ensuring our members are able to seek the help and advice they need to support their businesses.
Launched Smart Business
Last month we launched UK Business Forums’ sister site, Smart Business, which is the Business-to-Business price comparison site we’ll be building on throughout 2024 adding more and more products to the site.
The first product we have launched with is business insurance, working in partnership with Simply Business, where we enable our members to compare insurance quotes from leading providers.
This is an important part of the wider UKBF platform and I’d ask all our members to get a quote via our Smart Business website when your business insurance is due for renewal and see how much you could save.
DRIVE Podcast
We’ve just reached the end of the first season of the DRIVE podcast where I’ve spoken to business owners from all over the UK about the highs and lows of running your own business, getting real insights from everyday small business founders. Some of these have been other members of UK Business Forums and the insights and lessons shared have been inspirational.
If you missed these episodes do catch up on Spotify here, and I look forward to bringing you Season 2 next year!
