I have a web designer client who's looking for some PR/Marketing ideas around the world cup - any suggestions?

Embed a football flash game into their website and get people to visit the URL and spend hours playing it.

Perhaps there is a 2010 version out there.

Extract videos of some best moments and some catchy tackles of players and use them for your website. Usually people have interest in videos and extracting best moments and if you will provide them the refined information then they will love that and ultimately appreciate the website.

Another way to generate quality leads is to use social media marketing. If you were to create World Cup videos or viral games you could consider seeding them on blog sites or social media networks such as YouTube or Flickr.

How about a competition to guess the time of the first goal in each match?
Offer a quality prizes.
Entries via the website and /or chargable text message which helps towards the cost of the prizes and it builds your email and mobile database.
Repeat visits to the site each match.
Announce the winner on line.
Viral marketing, refer a freind and if they enter the comp via text then the referirng party gets a free go.
I thought about doing this for the '98 World Cup but the technology wasn't quite right......it is now!!
