Working out pro-rata holiday entitlement

Hi am new to this but wondered if you found out what you needed? I am in a same situation but more complicated - do not even have a contract or job description plus I went from full time of three months to 20hrs a week and am being told am allowed 5 days holiday for working 6 months.

Your boss is probably pretending he/she knows nothing!

Irrespective of how many hours you work - you are entitled to 28 days leave per full 12 month calendar year, IF you work 5 days or more per week. The calculated days are scaled down if you work less days per week:
20 hours over 5 days = 28 days total per year
20 hours over 4 days = 22 point blah blah days total per year
20 hours over 3 days = 16.8 days total per year

Your company may choose to start your leave year from your start date or they could have an official leave year which is the same for every employee. If you don't take all your leave in the leave year, then you are likely to lose it.

Hi I am also having trouble working this out....

I started my new job on the 15th November.

We close the office on the 24th December.

I work full time for 37.5hrs per week.

I have 22 days holiday in my contract (plus 3 days extra which may be given after Xmas / before the new year at the Directors discretion?)

What is my holiday entitlement for this year?

I think I worked out 2.5 days by doing:
22 days divided by 52 weeks x 6 weeks worked (15th nov-24 dec)

is this right?
If so is the 2.5 days rounded up or down or have I worked this out completely wrong?

This is my working pattern Mon to Thu 9am to 3pm and on Fri 9am to 12pm. Total hours 25 per week I work.

I go in 5 days a week.

Can someone advise me on my holiday entitlement how can I work it out, is it better to have it in days or hours, much appreciated if anyone can assist me ASAP.
