Why most advertising fails

Adverts - there everywhere aren't they... and they seem to be working or do they?

At least don't expect a sudden rush of customers, well they can be a choosy wave of folk who take their time when selecting who to use, and who can blame them. Trouble is most ad space fails, cos its the wrong type of space to use for certain companies and/or the advertiser becomes far too impatient and won't wait for the results to happen or most likely sees a few sales and expects a huge rush of extra sales, when its not going to happen and other factors are in play and actually nothing to do with the ad platforms their using.

So what do they do - they stop advertising.... pull their links/adverts and suddenly - no customers.

What a surprise.

There's an old retail marketing adage: "advertise when you don't need to". I heard that 30 years ago and it works in the online environment today. If you can't find a lucrative advertising media in 2016, you need to change your business model or shut up shop.

This!

A long, long time ago, I learned that one should only advertise when business is good - that way you get a bigger slice of a growing and healthy cake!

Also, if the punters are not lined up at your door, banging to be let in, you probably don't have a business!
