Wholesale whey protein

Hi all
Great to join the forum, as it looks a pretty useful source of information.
I was wondering whether anyone could point me in the direction of where to buy wholesale whey protein.
It seems a tricky area and I'm not seeing much. Does anyone know where MyProtein or Optimum, for example, source theirs from?
At the moment, we're looking at whey protein concentrate, but are open to all good quality whey sources.
We're based in the UK, but are open to sourcing from abroad.

Would imagine Muller or Dairy Crest or any other cheese maker who has spray drying facilities. They probably sell it in 25 tonne lorry loads.

Excellent constituent in Pig Feed. at around 18 cents (US) per Lb

Given what whey protein is, the obvious place to go is a dairy farm or cheese maker. I'd imagine the big dairies have already got a purchaser for their by-product so look at the smaller farms.

That said you have to then look at the flavouring and packaging plus the food labelling will be very strict on this stuff.

For the smaller "Farm Scale" cheese producers the whey will remain in it's liquid form and probably be fed to pigs or spread on the land as a waste product.
