Immigrants to which country? Those Britains who are lucky enough to migrate to the EU, I suppose?
I am lost with that sentence too.. It's totally my translation tool played around.. He said Turkey would join EU to scare people off and get more Brexit voters! Turkey will never join EU, even Turks laughed at that but he actually made people believe in that!Sorry, I'm a bit lost, what's an EI member?
Who do you recommend? To quote a much-hated former Tory Prime Minister. Rejoice, rejoice.
Jeremy Corbyn.Who do you recommend?
OK, got it. Thank you.I am lost with that sentence too.. It's totally my translation tool played around.. He said Turkey would join EU to scare people off and get more Brexit voters! Turkey will never join EU, even Turks laughed at that but he actually made people believe in that!
People without homes and without enough money to eat will not produce another generation
Jeremy Corbyn.
How very true - One never hears of an 'Unmarried Countess' with children.Unfortunately that isn't true as it's the poorer section of society that seem to breed the most
That’s true in my experience as well. More kids = bigger house = more taxpayers money.Unfortunately that isn't true as it's the poorer section of society that seem to breed the most
Not a single person had an ounce of consideration as to how these things would be paid for...
‘The rich should pay more!’ they cry.Why would they? Even our Politicians have the same attitude.
Only those on PAYE.‘The rich should pay more!’ they cry.
Trouble is, the rich already do pay more in a percentage-based tax system…

And those who take large dividends.Only those on PAYE.
And those who take large dividends.
And those who make high value purchases (via VAT).
Unless of course they have found tax avoidance schemes which mean they don't pay tax on those things. How much inheritance tax dod the Duke of Westminster pay? Inherited nearly £10 billion, paid no inheritance tax. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/how-britains-richest-duke-saved-4-billion-inheritance-neil-da-costaAnd those who take large dividends.
And those who make high value purchases (via VAT).
And those who run businesses employing people (via NI).
And those who inherit (via inheritance tax)
Just a few there!
All of which are completely (and very easily) avoidable. And those who take large dividends.
And those who make high value purchases (via VAT).
And those who run businesses employing people (via NI).
And those who inherit (via inheritance tax)
Working on my own on a Sunday. Yes it was seriousThat could be a symptom of something serious
So how do you change that mindset? I feel pretty sure that most people would pay more tax if it were to be directly spent on the things that matter to them most. Tapping into the 'I want' psyche. Why would they? Even our Politicians have the same attitude.
But do they pay enough?‘The rich should pay more!’ they cry.
Trouble is, the rich already do pay more in a percentage-based tax system…
Bearing the brunt is usually associated with something unpleasant. Perhaps we need to move away from the belief that writing off £10 once a year to support Red Nose Day has any real impact on the bigger picture? The middle class and rich will bear the brunt of tax increases, few poor have any real disposable income worth taking anymore.
How many small business owners utilise those arrangements?Unless said dividend is being paid into a holding company in the Virgin Islands.
Unless the purchase is being made by an offshore company in the Virgin Islands.
And so on...
How many small business owners are 'the rich' who are expected to pay more? How many small business owners utilise those arrangements?

In the top 10% of earners for instance? Most of them I’d say.How many small business owners count amongst the "rich"?
I still don’t understand this. Who is ‘the rich’, and compared to what? How many small business owners are 'the rich' who are expected to pay more?
I have no idea. It was your comment:I still don’t understand this. Who is ‘the rich’, and compared to what?
‘The rich should pay more!’ they cry.
Do you know what 'earners' means in that context?Having just done the IFS test, I’m in the top 4% of earners, for instance.
I’m confident that you’re also in the top few percent of earners in the UK. Would you like to pay more tax, or do you consider that you’re already taxed pretty heavily on just about every transaction you make? I mean, if you or I tried to charge tax on tax (vat on fuel duty) we’d be locked up!Most of them? I suspect not.
