Lol! How did that work out for you?

I'm good thanks - slightly missing the panda chat though!

It's going OK, I have been busy as something came up this week so I have just started looking for suppliers of mobile communications equipment, I did post in the general section here but I guess most will think its a scam as it involves Africa lol

Panda chat will hopefully be back online shortly lol.

Lol - sounds somewhat out of my league!

Cool, will catch you online sometime :D In the mean time, I am playing word games to keep my brain from freezing up completely :p

A Weirding Module featured in a sci fi series, film or game... Possibly Dune 2 on the PC?

Used as a sonic weapon. :)

The weirding module responded to certain words and tones to create a destructive force, hence Paul Atreides making the comment that his name is a killing name (Muah D'ib) in the film (Dune in case you didn't know) when he is training the Fremen to take on the Harkonens and disrupt the flow of spice.

However, in the book the weirding module is known as the 'the weirding way' and is more of a method of physical enhancement allowing the user faster movement and greater strength.

*apologies for more geek postings*

Thats it!

In the original Dune game for PC (the one in which you rally the fremen against the harkonnen - before the more popular RTS genre creating Dune 2) the weirding module is used as a weapon.

This part is only loosely based on the book, good weapon.

There is nothing geeky about discussing sci-fi, games, Dune and related trivia on an internet forum

Shall I regale you with my knowledge of the Planet of the Apes films, how all 5 link together despite apparent plot flaws, how the TV series (which depicts humans speaking) is not an error and would make sense based on the events of the final film (Battle for....)

The Tim Burton version could exist as a parallel but I tend to ignore that as although it is a pretty good film, and takes some important elements from the book, it isn't really related to the originals. Then again, it wasn't supposed to be.

Unfortunately I never watched any of them!

Far too busy taking in the finer points of Doctor Who. There are so many tiny loopbacks and plot pointers that the little people miss...

I also read new scientist magazine and spend an unhealthy amount of time wondering why cars have not been replaced with automated transport pods that run on rails, capable of linking into trains for long run high speed stretches.

Yet amazingly I have a girlfriend and am more than welcome to drink in local pubs!

In the age of the internet geeks are suddenly acceptable :)

Remeber as little as 5 years ago the majority of girls I spoke too (I was single back then) didn't have a clue about the internet and thought I was a geek for spending time on chatrooms! How sad talking to people you can't see!

Now facebook...

Back when I was 16 the internet was still in its infancy (1994). I remember getting quite excited by being able to view pictures of space on the NASA website. Pretty much everyone else thought the whole thing (the internet) was silly, pointless and a waste of time - a tool for nerds and nothing more.

Nerds: 1
Cool people: 0

I didn't get to see all of the pages here yet... but from the little, well a lot under other circumstances but not in this case, that I did read it seemed one point may not have been covered.

Are these points correct?

Nick/Citizen Erased has spent 2 years unemployed?
Nick has been receiving unemployment benefits?
Nick has been selling software for the purpose of profit?

If that is the case, should he have not declared himself self-employed to HMRC within 3 months of commencing this activity?

Did someone else cover this before?

Yes its been covered. Although he was generall unsucessful at selling the software. And on the odd occasion I think someonbne else took most of the profit.

No doubt there are many technicalities astry in the young mans life. The problem is the CE is the sort of bloke thats easier to let b than set right. I imagine a civil servant would feel very smug when they catch a person scamming the system and call him in for an interview. If they got CE they would spend 2 hours banging the head against a wall trying to explain what the interview was about. CE would sit there smiling. Eventually they would give up.

I honestly think its impossible to help or change CE - and I tried really hard a while back!
