Where would you stay?

Hi all,

I've been working in the Financial Planning industry for about 10 years now as a Paraplanner (creates the plans for the advisers).

I've decided to go out on my own and contract my services back to advisers. I've got a contract lined up that will pay about $60,000 over the next 12 months.

What would you do in my position? Bother to register for GST? Get an ABN?

This is the first time I havn't been a full time employee.

Gst is Canadian but maybe they use it elsewhere.
