What's the Best Facebook Advertising Strategy for a Newly Created Page with a Successful Brand on Amazon?

I have recently created a Facebook page for my brand, which has been successful on Amazon. Additionally, I have set up a Shopify ecommerce website. Now, I am looking for advice on the best strategy for allocating my advertising budget, specifically targeting the UK audience. Should I prioritize boosting my page likes and followers before focusing on product advertising? Or is it better to start with product advertising right away?
Also, I'm curious about the role of positive reviews on Amazon in establishing a unique selling point. Should I focus on promoting and leveraging these positive reviews as part of my brand's unique selling point (USP)? How can I effectively utilize these reviews to enhance my marketing efforts and drive customer engagement?

What makes you think FB is going to generate leads for your shopify or amazon store?

Depends on your budget, product, competitors etc, especially your target customers, as some quirky and visually appealing products can work well on Facebook.

You need to do research and create a marketing plan based on who your target customers are, and where do they research and look for the products you're selling.

Specialized in home and garden products. Is FB not the right choice for this in the start?
I don’t know. As @Paul Carmen suggests you need to do some market research. What are you selling that’s different to everyone else? What incentives are you offering to make me want to buy from you?

    You need to research and develop a marketing plan with budget first to identify the best channels to use to reach your target customers.

    This will tell you how best to allocate any advertising budget

    Very few brands have USP's you will simply have points of differentiation.

    How will engaging with existing customers help? Suppose I brought a terracotta pot. What sort of engagement do you suggest?

    Most people go to facebook due to being free to open an account. Similar use of Instagram, Whatsapp and TikTok. Their mindset is actually wrong to make it in business. When starting you need to be able to scale up. OK start on FB and/or the others and learn which platform is OK for you if not all.

    Shopify is not free, it costs just below 500 $ per year. For that price you get a domain, server and a shop with 30+ products. Actually the smartest way is to do both.

    A few additions to the above...

    • A good strategy is to try and harvest customer info from your Amazon sales so that you can market to them directly. You can use product inserts for this with QR codes taking them to a dedicated landing page on your website. The incentive for them to do this might be an extended warranty, membership of a VIP club, newsletter etc. At the same time you can get them to follow you on social

    • Be very careful about using social media to launch new products. One traditional method - Search, Find, Buy - is now banned. This is where you would get your FB audience to type in a keyword (terracotta pot for example), scroll down to find your listing and buy it, mimicking the buyer journey and boosting you up the rankings for that search term. You can't do this any more as it has been deemed as ranking manipulation since November 2021 (I think that's the date anyway).

    • You can't use Amazon reviews anywhere else so there is no way to link them to your website or socials. As far as Amazon is concerned, they own them. However, you can try copying/pasting some of them over, maybe with disguised names - "Mr B from Blackpool" for example.

    • As far as reviews on Amazon itself - they are vital. When you launch a product you basically start training the algorithm on whether your product is relevant for all the different search terms that customers use. The first of stage by the way is to make sure you give the algorithm a decent chance in the first place - so lots of relevant keywords in the right places and pick your title keywords carefully. After that the algorithm will place you in the results and see whether you are relevant for that search term or not. Does the customer click on your listing from the results page, read your reviews, scroll through your photos, watch your video, add to basket and ultimately purchase your product? All of these things will push you up the rankings the next time someone uses the same search term.

      But all of this is pointless if customers then leave bad reviews. When this happens the algorithm is taught that customers are dissatisfied when they make a purchase based on that search term and you will quickly drop down the rankings for that term compared to other sellers that make similar sales with good reviews.

    For allocating your advertising budget, consider starting with product advertising on your Shopify website to drive immediate sales. Simultaneously, you can run Facebook ads. As for positive Amazon reviews, they can indeed be a powerful, unique selling point.

    Agree with @AmazonGeek, OP you need to keep working on your Amazon strategy - product inserts with QR code or offers work really help. Your landing page could link to your Facebook page if you wanted to boost likes and follows, but if that's the goal there needs to be an incentive... perhaps pin a competition to your Facebook page? That route would be far less expensive and effective than a Facebook ad or social media posts at the moment. Furthermore, make sure your landing page has Google tags on it so you can keep improving it.
