Hi,

I am selling to tradespeople and would like advice on how best to communicate my business services.

My feeling is that many tradespeople are straightforward, say it like it is, and want to know if they'll get a return on their investment.

I also feel that some are less tech savvy than people in other industries meaning that it's harder to communicate an idea that uses tech.

Thoughts?

Perhaps there are a range of people and it's the same for every industry.

Be interesting to hear from someone who has been there and found an effective way to communicate.

Hi. its good that you can see there is a certain approach to selling to tradespeople, often the "no nonsense" approach works but remember just cos someone is in the trade, they are still a human and still a consumer just like all of us. My approach would be to a mixture of marketing methods, try and win them over, appear you are doing them a favour. Tradespeople want to save time, money , get new clients and earn more money so with that in mind, offer them something that they genuinely want or need and dont bull***t them

That's all of us!

Since when was some website, 'tech'? There's nothing especially 'techie' about stringing a few html commands together - and most website people don't even do that anymore.

Try configuring a gas/AC unit or doing a diagnosis of a car CPU and then compare that to some webpage drag-n-drop Wordpress stuff.

Bingo!

Talking, writing, signing - take your pick! Try writing a nice and friendly letter!

...........oh and also, i can tell you with confidence that pretty much all good tradespeople carry either a tablet or smartphone around with them, for some, its their mobile office.

Trades that do several jobs in several locations each day, such as a gas fitter, a man and van, a plumber, for example, actually get their work from being called whilst on the job so to speak.

so...whatever you do I myself would focus on delivering leads DIRECT TO THEIR PHONES, that would be a good selling point for you too. :)
