I'm a radio ham! A lapsed one, since the 80s, because my other hobbies, music and theatre became my job - so brought out the old one again! I am, however, now a dinosaur in what this hobby has become. Try explaining that you can, with great effort and lots of money, talk to somebody in a foreign country and have a chat for free. The kids say they can do this too, and see their moving pictures on Skype and whatssapp/facebook - makes my hobby look a bit feeble now really. Mind you - not many people have spoken to somebody in space (I have) or had a chat with a King, and had my details scrutinised by the KGB.

My passion (some would say bordering on obsession) is riding motorbikes. I've been riding bikes since I was a child and have had about 30 to date. I currently ride a Suzuki 1000. I ride all year sunshine, rain, hot or cold. It enables me to totally forget about anything else and is my therapy. If I could bottle and sell how it makes me feel I'd be a multi millionaire by now. I love to get on the bike and explore and really enjoy taking part in the Round Britain Rally which has taken me to some super places.

I went shooting last weekend. I've no real interest in guns, and always viewed that sort of thing as a bit neanderthal, but having spent a few hours with a shotgun firing at clay pigeons, a .22 in a rifle range, and a pistol, I really fancy joining a club now. There's one a few miles from me, so may start dropping in there to see what they have available.

I read a Derren Brown book where he recalled being at a party and asked a gentlemen what does he work at and watched with dismay the facial reaction of the man change as he obviously didn’t like what he worked at. From then on Derren changed the question to what do you enjoy doing in life?

@Free.stockphoto.com You do a full 90 minutes? I take my hat off to you sir!

I run a Veterans team in our local "Legends League" - we only play 35 mins each way, rolling subs, and you achieve legend status once you reach the ripe old age of 35 (although I would be old enough to play for you side.)

Currently the close season for us, but looking forward to kicking off again in September. You're right, great fun.

35 mins a half just isn't enough time to abuse every player on your own team! (I guess that's why we have an extended drinks after the game :) @Jeff FV - if you're ever out this way, let me know. Bring your boots! Melville City Masters Football would be pleased to host you youngsters from the UK!

MY main hobby is researching my family history to find out more about people I either can barely remember or died before I was born. I spend time trawling archives online and locally.

One snippet I found in our local paper's archive was an article about my my mother's father (who went down with his ship in 1943) visiting the Burghley Senior Boys' School in Tuffnell Park, London. He had been sending them dispatches from his ship as part of a scheme called British Ship Adoption Society.

The article says “he had assumed the status of a hero for the boys. When he did arrive, at the school and appeared in person the boys were delighted and impressed to find that Captain Fraser really had the physical stature of the hero they had imagined.” He was a burly man 6ft 2½ inches tall.

I was born 10 years after he was lost at sea so this helped flesh out my picture of him.

Wow that's amazing.

My late grandma (who was adopted) was raised on the Sandringham estate her adoptive father was the gamekeeper.

    I paint most days.

I have a passion for art, lots different mediums, watercolours, oils, acrylics, chalks, paint, colours, photography, I love the effect wet paper and colour have, mixing and blending of colours.

My personal art work website is artworkonline co uk
Given your username it's ironic that your art website is so awful that I can barely even see the art.

One of my favourite pass times is to wind folk up... i.e. out and about, having people stare at my Psoriasis with a look of "Ewww whats up wiv him"... on their faces... so I tend to cough loudly and look in pain and say to the missus...

"you know what, since I got back from Africa... my health's gotten so much worse"...

Love to wind people up that have no concept of showing how they really feel about the sick and helpless... :D :D :D
