Hi ,

I am trying to work out what insurance i would need to either run natural skin care making classes or a ' make your own skin care product ' party for women . All ingredients would be organic and fresh , so no harmful chemicals . They will make their own face mask/ body scrub etc and take what they made home . What type of insurance would i need ?

It sounds like you will need some form of public liability insurance, you might be able to specifically find some for the beauty trade which would be ideal.

Make sure it covers you for going to people's homes, assuming you're running classes in peoples homes. Tradesman insurance often focusses on this, as it covers any damage that might occur during the course of your day-to-day activities so that kind of policy might be the most appropriate.

I would presume Public liability would be enough. Although they contain no chemicals it doesnt mean they wont have a reaction to something.

Also if you cause damage at someones property etc, this will cover that.

I do the odd bit of commercial, drop me a PM if you want me to get you some quotes and speak to the company we go through.

I'd have a chat with with a good insurance broker. Initially you need Public and Product liability, but as you are guiding/teaching/advising a policy which also covers professional indemnity/treatment risk could be the best option for you, as I guess you may be applying it to skin as part of the teaching.

If you need a quote, just drop me a PM, or call 01924 278222
