What do you exactly do for SEO now?

All my sites have been Penguin-slapped. I've spoken to a few SEO companies, but it's clear they don't really know what to do, post-Penguin.

I don't think anyone really knows whats going on anymore.

You've spoken to the wrong agencies. There's a number of peeps on UKBF that I'd be confident could get me the desired results...

If you're contacting offshore companies that preach SENuke and xrumer blasts, mixing in talk of spun content and the like, you're fishing in the wrong pond. That one is the loo - try again

When even the top ten ranking positions for the search term 'SEO' on Google.com are unrecognizable from 2 months ago, I know that I'm essentially taking my cash to the roulette table, whoever I go with.

But I'm a sucker for snake-oil, so I'll be having a punt like everyone else.

Find a pay per performance company if you're risk averse. There's a number of them to choose from...

The SEO industry is like the bunch of degenerates hanging around race-tracks, selling tips for 2 dollars. To be fair to the tipsters, they are better regulated.

The degenerates thrive because people want to believe there's a quick low cost fix that will propel their low or zero effort website up the rankings.

It's like the diet industry in some ways. "Pay us £20/week and we'll make sure your sad flabby body is transformed into that of an athlete". People signing up for this know deep down they need to eat healthier and take exercise but the idea of the low cost easy fix is just too tempting.

I do feel for people who get ripped off but don't tar everyone in search marketing with the same brush.
