If you've lost most of your traffic, ditch seo and try alternative methods.
Yup, I'm on a anti-seo mission this afternoon![]()
Depends on what and to whom you sell. Just remember you don't have to use the internet to get visitors to your site. Beyond that I'm not qualified to say really - unless your market is very similar to mine.
I've lost most of my traffic now. I am totally lost with what needs to be done for SEO.
All the ON page and OFF page optimization rules (that i've learnt for years), are they all off the shelf now?
Do you mean i don't have to get visitors from search engines ? if i can't drive the traffic from internet i don't know how i can do advertising in russia?
Do you think i should hire a seo guy?
I built an alter to the The Google in my office.
Every day at 1pm I light some incense and say the The Google prayer
"I am a champion of unique, un-duplicated content.
I am a thought leader in my industry and my social following reflects this.
I do not employ link trickery; attempting to outsmart the The Google.
For The Google is all-knowing, all-seeing and all-powerful.
Please bless me with relevant traffic and low bounce rates."
After this I do the Google Wave - a type of ceremonial dance that has long been forgotten.

What sort of improvements did you see?
Well, one time, I sort of fell asleep at work.
While sleeping Matt Cutts appeared in one of my dreams.
He told me not to forget the old ways, that brought my ancestors so much success back in 2001.
He told me to link for traffic, rather than PageRank.
He told me to write content for people, not for machines.
He told me that no matter where I was, Google knew, and was selling my preferences to the highest bidder.
After the apparition I knew what I had to do.

Don't fall asleep at work.?
Earl
Earl, can you fix the underscore in your signature. I find it deeply unsettling.
No wonder you fall asleep.

Don't believe anything you read in SEO forumsDont believe everything you read in SEO forums
Who PM'd you? They should not be doing that i dont think.
I would send the PM's to a mod
The people who pay for it are mugs in my opinion.
Why? Why not pay a specialist?
If my washing machine needs fixed, I don't study washing machine repair for months... I call the guy.
I once put together a set of numbers that showed it's much cheaper to hire a pro to do SEO (assuming that "pro" can actually do SEO - lol) than to do it yourself.
Because..
Learning SEO in order to SEO just one site is like learning to drive in order to take just one journey

Can an SEO Pro deliver quicker results than a website owner?
Not if the website owner has understood googles free advice on SEO.
Misleading at best. I've heard several third party stories of people being hit when they've been using guest posting only.Slow, quality link building is the way forward. Guest posts are in my opinion the most powerful at the moment as they aren't going to get you penalised like blog networks and automated methods.

Matt Cutts is a propagandist. Believe everything/anything he says at your own risk.Ummm, OK mate. You give me a safer way to manually build a link than to approach the owner of a reputable, relevant website and write quality content for them in exchange for a link...... unless you disagree with Matt Cutts LMAO!
You can get penalised with any form of link building if you don't do it right. Eg. "they've been using guest posting only"
Seo is actually very easy.
The people who pay for it are mugs in my opinion.
The trouble is people can't be arsed to properly understand it.

Mr Cutts has also made reference to on site 'over optimisation'. OWG cited a client/prospect who hadn't done any link building, but was penalised. I have a test site that was NukeX-ed and it still ranks... At this stage I'd be cautious of drawing any conclusions.
