What are the Import rules to import as a personal?

Hi there ....
Actually, I'm living in Uk and I would like to start a small business. In fact, I am not a resident of EU and I do not have any information about trade laws here.

My question is: Can I import goods from China in person or have to get a business license first?

I"m planing to Import a container from China (from 100 to 200 Pieces).

I don't mind to pay a custom duty and VAT. But, I am afraid that customs do won't allow the passage my goods and that because I do not have official trade.

So, Please if any one can help me by his/her experience,,,,,,,

In your case, I assume it's better you do some researching and make some phone calls to some UK custom brokers and forwarders for the possibility of doing so.
