What are Directors Emoluments?

Can anyone shed light on these? I've seen them on accounts when credit checking companies.

Are they fat cat bonuses or some way to hide money legally etc?

How do they work etc?

Directors emoluments are simply the payments made to directors (salary, bonuses etc).

Emolument derives from Latin emolumentum, originally a sum paid to a miller for grinding out one's wheat, from molere, "to grind." It is related to molar, the "grinding" tooth.
