Sarah-Ink Promotions

I got a letter in the post to me warning me about 2 media companies or someone who owns them (not sure i can mention names just in case) who is a convicted criminal and not to pay invoices or deal with them, has anyone else received this as Im not really sure why I have - very confused! :?

Im not sure, its noone that I know or have dealt with which made me think maybe it was something sent to all the members on here or by one of the members on here. Its sent anonymously and from my web searches Ive just done the companies in question are web design and graphic design companies.

I haven't received anything like that. If the source is someone that you know and trust then ask them. If it is not then, if the companies in question actually look genuine, then it might be nice to forward the details to them.

Libel like that can do a lot of damage to a company and it might just be someone viciously attacking them.

It was sent anonymously so I cant ask them about it, I'll definitely look into it a bit more, like i said im just confused as to why I have received it :?

sounds like a malicious action to me. If you feel like doing something about it you can forward it onto the companies involved. Or you can delete it.

Sounds like a vicious attack, especially if done annonymously.

If we were to do a Google search Sarah, what search phrases might we use to find these companies?

Ive done a quick director search and the guy has wound up a couple of companies but is a trading 2 at the moment, although that doesnt make him a criminal as the letter suggests. Im not sure whether to just bin the letter and forget it (although if it is true I dont want anyone to get ripped off) or ring the guy and tell him (I think Ive found one of the companies hes running at the moment)

Any advice?!

If it doesn't concern you directly I would be tempted not to react to it - just ignore it.

Agreed. If the businesses have nothing to do with you or someone you know just ignore it.

Although it would be interesting to find out more and any horror stories involved!!!

Bye

I would never trust anyone who didn't leave a name. If I was to warn you of a dodgy person, you would know it was me who sent the email, just incase you wanted to ask more about it.

I'd ignore it!

Could have given Trading Standards a call to see if they knew anything about it.

Were you planning on using the companies that you have been warned about? If so, that might point you in the direction of where the letters came from.

All sounds a bit suspect though. Looking at it from a 'genuine' point of view, I know that if I dealt with a company that I later learn't was known for not paying suppliers and someone I knew, knew (are you keeping up??), I'd have wished they told me. Bad debt can be so crippling.

But, on the other hand, it may be a malicious act.

I think - if it were me - and I were planning on using the people the warning were about, I would be upfront with them and tell them and see what their reaction was.

A difficult one.
