Website Disclaimer Advice Needed Please

Hi everyone, I work in SEO and I have several websites that generate leads for clients.

However, I just want to make sure that I am protected legally in the event a client was to do something wrong.

A good example would be - I send a lead from my website to my client. Let's say he's a plumber. He fixes a leaking pipe and 7 days later its leaking again and ruins the homeowners laminate flooring.

Could this ever come back on me?

Thanks in advance.

Who is paying the plumber? If all you are doing is passing on the lead and the customer is contracting and paying the plumber directly, it is unlikely that you will be held responsible.

You need to make sure your disclaimer clearly states that you have not vetted any plumbers and the customer is engaging directly with the plumber.

However, if you're site is recommending the plumber or you are vetting them, a customer may try and pursue you on the grounds that you recommended a plumber that was not suitable etc. If you are doing this, I would recommend you look into Professional Indemnity Insurance which will step in should a claim be made against you as a result of your website lead generation service.

Can't find that link on the homepage or forum page

    Ouch
It’s displayed to you to accept when you register along with T&Cs. After that how often do you go back for a re-read just in case you run out of bed time reading material?

Well golly gosh, are you suggesting people just click to accept without reading what they signed up for? Who does that?
