A question for people who sell advertising space on there website and for those who buy space on a website.

1) To those who sell - How do you go about selling space on your site?

2) To those who buy - How do you go about buying space on a website?

Hi Chunky Beagle

From my experience you are going need to have a really decent amount to traffic to your site be viable. Banner advertising is traded on "cost per thousands" of around £2. In other words, that is just £20 revenue for every 10,000 worth of visitors.

Get out the fag packet and do the sums!

You wont get that kind of money for a forum, i run one of the biggest microsoft excel forums with 150k members and 35k uniques daily, i will be so happy if i get 1$ ecpm on the forum :p

Btw do you have any plans for selling your forum to a sports lover and a website lover as well ?

1. I naturally sell my space via my adspace site;
2. Target businesses which are related to your own e.g. the one's who have customers who would also buy your product. Don't just buy space on a site because it is of interest to you or looks good, buy it because it is a good value space which will attract your type of customer.

Buy because it delivers your visitor type.

Conversions are better bcos the advertisers knows a site is targeted to the right visitors.

No point in using a website thats more interested in itself, than doing what its supposed to do..
