VAT insurance

We have recently registered for VAT and need to look at our insurance(s)

Our accountant does not offer tax insurance. So need to look at alternatives.

I note that the FSB offer this as part of their £250 annual fee - is this worth it?

I have no idea what this might cost, but can't believe it is that much per year.

Your Business Community offers a similar policy (note - I am biased!).

The membership fees includes access to a lot of benefits, so bare in mind that you might be able to easily cover the cost by taking up some of the offers.

I used to offer fee protection insurance for clients and also no longer do so.

Something to consider if you do use the FSB they dont cover the fees for your own accountant - you have to use someone they appoint.

It's been a while since I've seen the price of fee protection cover but I suspect you'll pay not far off the cost of the FSB sub for a policy.

With YBC you used to be able to get your accountant added to the approved list (if they wanted).
