VAT Inspection Specialist recommendations

Hello all,

I am a self employed individual and have been for a few years. I am going through a VAT Compliance check which is becoming quite difficult to manage on my own. Overall, I am confident things are ok, but there are some grey areas.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a company or person I can instruct to help me with my compliance check?

What is the compliance check asking for and how complex is it?
Do you need a VAT specialist or would an accomplished accountant suffice?

Thank you, the complexity is that for the first few years, I used my personal bank account for business purposes, so every transaction is under scrutiny.

There is no law against using your personal bank account although as I am sure you now realise things can get a bit mixed up and messy.
I would have thought any competent accountant would be able to deal with this, I would suggest getting in touch with a few local firms and arranging an initial consultation about the situation, most accountants usually offer this free of charge.
