UK WP Transfer Enquiry

I am in a particular scenario and need to know the following asap:
I am already in UK on a WP which is valid till another 6 months. Recently I was offered a job by another co and they have started processing my WP with UK Home Office. My concern is - can I continue to work with my current employer even after the new WP is approved by Home Office, and not stamped in my paassport.
